I was having issues with my StepRanger digging itself into gravel and soft soil when doing routine chores around our property. The stock wheels are perfect for compacted surfaces and pavement but off roading can be a challenge. I discussed the situation with StepRanger and ordere up the mud & snow wheel set. These should be renamed the Off Roading Set as I never see snow and rarely mud in my neighborhood! They are definitely a game changer as I can easily navigate the areas I lost traction in previously. There is one section of sand that defies me regardless of load but I came up with a fix for that. I lay down sections of horse fence panels which give the wheels something to bite onto. Problem solved! Do consider having this option installed when ordering as you’ll save yourself $100 over buying aftermarket.
