Battery meter stays at 100%

This is normal: the meter reads pack voltage, and sealed lead-acid voltage stays nearly flat through the first half-plus of the charge.

What to do

  1. Expect the meter to sit at 100% for most of a day. Nothing needs fixing.
  2. The meter starts moving once the pack is actually getting low, and then it moves fairly quickly. Treat anything below 100% as a sign to charge tonight.
  3. Read the meter at rest, with the key on and the truck not moving. Under load it dips and then recovers.
  4. For the true charge state, use the charger. Plug in after a good day of use and let it charge overnight; the charger’s lights show when it’s full.
  5. With dual batteries you have about twice the capacity, so a typical work day barely registers.

Still not working? If the display goes dark, the reading jumps around, or the truck dies while the meter still reads high, call or text us and we’ll get it resolved quickly.
