Throttle not responding

The most common cause is a broken internal mechanism in the throttle, and one twist tells you whether that’s it.

This is usually quick to sort out. If these steps don’t fix it, call or text us and we’ll get it resolved.

What to do

  1. On a Pro 60V, squeeze and release the brake lever first. If the throttle comes back, it’s the throttle safety-lock, which is designed behavior.
  2. Twist the throttle and let go. Does it spring back into place, or spin freely?
  3. If it spins freely, the internal mechanism is broken and a replacement throttle fixes it. Contact us; the replacement is covered under the 2-year warranty.
  4. If it springs back normally but the truck still won’t respond, pop off the plastic steering-column cover and reseat the throttle connector behind the bars.
  5. If problems are with the forward/reverse buttons or the grip and spring, the fix is also a replacement throttle assembly.
  6. The replacement throttle is covered under the 2-year warranty, and it’s a plug-in swap with no special tools. Leave the old throttle connected until the new one is in hand, then follow the same connections.

Still not working? If the throttle spins freely or reseating the connector doesn’t bring it back, call or text us and we’ll get it resolved quickly. We’ll work through it with you by phone or a quick video, and if a part is needed, we ship it.
